What Happened at our Member Meeting in Dec? Read on…

After a hiatus that began during Covid, the coop is back to its annual member meetings!   On December 11, more than 30 coop members gathered at Ledge Brewing Company in Intervale.  The goal of the meeting was to gather the coop membership together and for the Board of Directors to share updates.  Here’s what we talked about:

  • The Coop: Brief History, Current State, and Future
  • Financial Report
  • A Q&A session and member input
  • Intro to bylaws amendments and voting procedures
  • Board member elections
  • How to get involved

You can read the complete meeting minutes here.  Some highlights:

  • The sharing of photos of some of our recent acquisitions like climbing wall panels, volumes, cubbies, rubber flooring for fitness space, foam for padding.  We’ve got a lot of other stuff too: holds, climbing shoes, and more!

  • Although we now have a lot of material assets, the biggest thing holding us back from opening a bouldering gym is finding an affordable space.  The price of real estate went up during covid, which has made the search more challenging.  The Board continues to look at various options for spaces,  and we’re also exploring partnering with other organizations or businesses to realize our vision, but nothing concrete is yet in the works.  Please get in touch with us if you have any leads!
  • The Q&A session included discussion of various models of gyms; questions about the cost of building out a gym and keeping it going once it opens; how folks can get updates on the coop; fundraising possibilities; insurance and liability questions; and voting procedures.
